Hello, all! Today I am SO excited to share something near and dear to my heart with you! Many of you may not know that Daniel, my oldest son, was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. From the get-go, I determined that I’d use our experience to both educate others about clefts and help encourage others who might be in a similar situation. Cleft babies come with many different challenges and I hoped that, if nothing else, our example would demonstrate how to face those challenges with a positive outlook.
This past month, as I was eating breakfast and looking through a photography magazine, I saw an ad for something called Celebration of Smiles. Celebration of Smiles is a charitable event put on by photographers who are members of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America). Basically, photographers who are also members of the PPA sign-up to hold a day of mini-sessions where ALL the proceeds go to Operation Smile (an organization which provides surgeries for children with facial deformities). I immediately got SO excited. I started clapping and jumped around the room- I couldn’t wait to take part in this special day!
Here’s the deal…
WHO: I want to take your photo!
WHAT: You make a minimum donation of $24 (+ tax) and you get a ten minute mini session, an online gallery of five images and a complimentary 5×7 professionally printed photo. You may purchase any digital file (with printing and sharing rights) from the session for $30/per photo (all proceeds will go to Operation Smile). Additional prints may also be ordered through Katy J. for 50% off. Sessions may be individuals, couples or sibling groups containing children over five years old. More than one session may be booked for larger groups or younger groups. Additional donations are more than welcome.
